They said to me, "Those who survived the exile and are back in the province are in great trouble and disgrace. The wall of Jerusalem is broken down..."
Nehemiah 1:3 NIV
Walls are there to protect the city, the people on the inside so that they can thrive and flourish
They are there to keep the enemies out...with the walls broken down there's no stopping those who would do harm to the city.
Why are our lives a bit of a shambles sometimes?
Could it be that we've let the walls to our hearts crumble?
We just watch any movie, go to any internet site, let in anything...our validation coming from social media...
We allow any thought to take root, to rattle around in our heads...
Maybe we need to rebuild the defences to our minds and hearts.
Walls can be good & useful things to protect those on the inside and allow them to really thrive.

Genesis 15.8-18.ESV But he said O Lord God , how am I to know that I shall possess it? ...When the sun had gone down and it was dark, behold, a smoking fire pot and a flaming torch passed between these pieces. On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram... March 15 was the last day we looked at Abram's story...he was questioning God and this is God's response...sacrifices and smoke and fire and a covenant...a promise... Isn't that what we crave for sometimes? God, if only you'd just show me smoke & fire, a burning bush a sign, miracle, healing...then all my questions would disappear...all my doubts would be gone... 2moro we'll see Abram's response but I think God values our faith in spite of our questions and doubts. That we choose Him anyway #faith
