The problem is its nice to feel important.
The author calls us out when we make poor financial decisions just so that others are impressed...but whether it's owing something we can't afford, or trying to impress with our looks, speech, performance, status...none of it lasts!
The truth is this:
The creator of the universe has a space in his heart that only you can fill.
You're the object of his love.
You don't need the accolades of this world, the praise of others, nice tho that is, to give you worth.
It's ok to be "ordinary" when your already chosen...
