Luke 1:19 ESV

And the angel answered him,
I am Gabriel. I stand in the presence of God, and I was sent to speak to you and to bring you this good news.

I don't know much about angels, but just reading this passage suggests that angels are not soft fluffy creatures who are only good for singing carols in a choir...but they are strong. Gabriel is strong enough to stand in the presence of God.
For a moment the wall between heaven and earth is removed and we get a glimpse of more...heaven...mystery... angels...strength...and they're on our side...somehow this just makes me feel good...

Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation,  for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can't see - such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him.
