Genesis 12:1 NIV

The Lord had said to Abram
Go from your country, your people and your father's household to the land I will show you.

Abram was an important person in his community. Yet God called him to leave...sometimes our security, our faith is wrapped up in, or is connected with the people around us...and sometimes God has other things for them to do...Abram leaving would have left a gap...when that happens in our lives it is challenging about what's really important and the need for us to stay connected with God

Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation,  for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can't see - such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him.
