And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. 
Let them be a living and holy sacrifice - the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. 
Dont copy the behavior and customs of this world...

Bless those who persecute you. 
Don't curse them; 
pray that God will bless them. 
Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep. 
Live in harmony with each other. 
Don't be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. 
And don't think you know it all! 
Never pay back evil with more evil. 
Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable. 
Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone.
Romans 12:1-2, 14-18 NLT
This part of Paul's letter seems to be an extension of this idea of what worship is, of what transforming life looks like.
It's not a "to-do" list, but an invitation into a way of being, a way of living.
A way of living that is different to the behaviour and customs of this world, is different to the culture. 
The key thing in this part of Paul's letter to the church is the change, the transformation, the worship, is found in what we do, how we live in the everyday things of life, in ways that are aligned with God's economy of grace, otherness, connection and community.

Genesis 15.8-18.ESV But he said O Lord God , how am I to know that I shall possess it? ...When the sun had gone down and it was dark, behold, a smoking fire pot and a flaming torch passed between these pieces. On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram... March 15 was the last day we looked at Abram's story...he was questioning God and this is God's response...sacrifices and smoke and fire and a covenant...a promise... Isn't that what we crave for sometimes? God, if only you'd just show me smoke & fire, a burning bush a sign, miracle, healing...then all my questions would disappear...all my doubts would be gone... 2moro we'll see Abram's response but I think God values our faith in spite of our questions and doubts. That we choose Him anyway #faith
