Jesus told stories when sharing with crowds of people. 

Lots of stories.

The word used is "parabole";

Para is "close beside, with".

Bole is "to cast"

Teaching alongside, casting light.

This is Jesus, alongside, with, casting light. 

Jesus isn't there with a list of rules, but alongside, with, casting light.

Jesus doesn't bring a manual, a "how to" guide, platitudes or catchy sayings, he comes alongside, with, casting light.

As we follow him, perhaps that's what he is inviting us into in this world, in the lives of others, to come alongside, to be "with", and to cast a little light.
