When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the man who was paralyzed, 
"Be encouraged, 
my child, 
your sins are forgiven."
Matthew 9:2 CEB
I don't know if Jesus knew what was going on in this man who was paralyzed, but he didn't mention it. 
He did mention the faith of his people, his little community who carried him to Jesus. 
Jesus saw their faith.
And forgave his sins. 
Jesus saw their faith. 
And forgave his sins. 
Keep bringing the people you love and care about to places that they might find Jesus. 
Keep faith that Jesus can and does save, and it seems that at least on this occasion, the faith of others had something to do with it.
Don't give up. 
Even if they're paralyzed with something, stuck somewhere, pick them up and bring them with you. 
Your faith matters. 
Your faith in action matters. 
And Jesus words:
Be encouraged
Be unafraid
Take heart
(It's the same word Jesus uses in John 16:33, the last words to his disciples, there's trouble in this world, but take heart, be encouraged, be unafraid, I've overcome the world).
Jesus knew things were about to change for this person, and change is scary because it's unknown. What he had known was all about to change, and Jesus loves him 
My child 
Be encouraged
Be unafraid
Take heart
I'm here. 
It's going to be OK

Do you wonder about the back story? Are these the same 4 people who bring this man food? Take him to the toilet every day. Clean him up. Does he live with one of them? Are they family? Are there whole families or groups of people in the background who have supported and cared for this man? A group of children who grew up seeing their parents love in action? Probably. Healing Help Hope These things are found in community. These 4 guys are the heroes here. The upfront people. As Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the twelve disciples aside privately and told them what was going to happen to him.  "Listen," he said,  "we're going up to Jerusalem, where the Son of Man will be betrayed to the leading priests and the teachers of religious law.  They will sentence him to die. Matthew 20:17-20 NLT Jesus wanted his team, those closest to him, to know what was going to happen next.  It seems he wanted them to be prepared.  To be able to hold the hope of what's at the end as they go through the watching him be betrayed, sentenced, mocked, abused, and killed.  I wonder if Jesus needed to tell them, to let those he knew best what was ahead because he needed them with him.
