Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.

John 20:30-31 NIV

John hasn't given us all the stories, and it makes you wonder about the good things that he hasn't shared, but his focus has been on helping us to see, to believe, that Jesus is who he said he is.

Messiah.

Son of God.

That he is from before time, the agent of creation, God in a body just like ours who dwelt among us, God who knows what it's like to be us, God who came to make a way, to become the way for us to be in communion again with him, to restore what has been broken, our world, our relationships with one another, and our relationship with Him.

So that we might have Life. 

So when we waver in our belief John is saying look back through my book, the signs you need are all here.
