"How many loaves do you have?" he asked.
"Go and see."
When they found out, they said, "Five - and two fish."
Taking the five loaves and the two fish...he gave them to his disciples to distribute to the people. He also divided the two fish among them all.
They all ate and were satisfied...
Mark 6:38, 41-42 NIV
Can you picture what's going on here...the disciples had been so busy that they couldn't stop to eat, were heading with Jesus for a day of rest across the lake, end up with 10,000 people...and now are going around asking "who's got food?"
Tired
Hungry
And they found 5 loaves.
For 10,000 people.
I would've been eating those by now.
Jesus gave them the food and sent them out.
And they gave it away.
And as they gave it away it never ran out.
Mark just says "everyone ate".
How did it work?
Did one loaf become 2?
Was it warm like it had just been baked?
Did it just multiply in their hands?
Did it just seem so natural that Mark just says "everyone ate"?
Somehow.
Everyone was involved, receiving, passing on, watching everyone around them eat as the food just didn't run out.
Bread of life.
Enough for everyone.

The "mighty things" he wants God to do are all on the outside, all about power, and David's writing sounds like he's a bit lost in his quest to win. And I do the same thing. Praise God and ask him to fix my problems. Fix the classroom/online/workplace bully, fix my finances, fix my relationships, fix my problems. Friday! Proverbs! The Lord hates six things;  in fact, seven are detestable to him:  (1) arrogant eyes,  (2) a lying tongue,  (3) hands that shed innocent blood, ...
