Faith.
Or more accurately...lack of faith is the issue.
If he really believed Jesus is who he says he is, how would he have responded?
I trust you.
I will follow you.
Even if it means giving up something, giving away something important too me...
But this guy, he had more faith in his money than in Jesus...even though in his heart he knew it couldn't save him...
We all have something that we put our faith in from time to time; money, business, work, education, acceptance of others, appearance, relationship...
Jesus says have enough faith in me just to follow me first.
Trust me.
