Jesus answered, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me." When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth.

What's it gonna be?
Treasure on earth?
Or treasure in heaven?
Seems pretty easy.
Jesus asks.
Sure. No probs.
But would I?
I want both. Treasure now AND later...
I don't think Jesus is being mean here but wants to get to our hearts - for us to see what we hold dear...what our treasure is...
Would I give away my pride to talk about Jesus to my neighbour?
Give away my money?
Give away my time? Skills? Resources?
And get nothing back?
Just follow Jesus?

I have decided
To follow Jesus
No turning back

I don't know about you, but there's some of that guy in me...that wants to hang on to this treasure, that wants to save myself.
But Jesus quietly, gently, simply, says "Come, follow me..."

Genesis 15.8-18.ESV But he said O Lord God , how am I to know that I shall possess it? ...When the sun had gone down and it was dark, behold, a smoking fire pot and a flaming torch passed between these pieces. On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram... March 15 was the last day we looked at Abram's story...he was questioning God and this is God's response...sacrifices and smoke and fire and a covenant...a promise... Isn't that what we crave for sometimes? God, if only you'd just show me smoke & fire, a burning bush a sign, miracle, healing...then all my questions would disappear...all my doubts would be gone... 2moro we'll see Abram's response but I think God values our faith in spite of our questions and doubts. That we choose Him anyway #faith
