Friday! Proverbs!
The ransom for a man's life is his wealth, But the poor man does not even have to listen to a rebuke or threats [from the envious].
Proverbs 13:8 AMP
No point in kidnapping a poor person who has nothing to pay!
True.
And interesting.
But why is this in the Bible?
Maybe it's a hint of what's to come - that we have nothing with which to pay - but Jesus, who had it all, paid the ransom on our behalf...the poor man
Jesus willingly paid the ransom not for His own life, but for ours.
Yours and mine.
We think that our riches, our goodness, will save our lives, but it's only Jesus goodness, His wealth, that saves.
What do you think?

Joseph replied..."Dont you see, you planned evil against me but God used those same plans for my good, as you see all around you right now - life for many people..." Genesis 50:19-20 MSG The view from the drone. The different perspective. "God has been at work in my life despite, in fact within the hatred that you had towards me. Even though I couldn't always see it, I kept trusting Him, even when He was silent, when all hope seemed lost... God was at work... Can you see that now?" #faith #faithinthedark
