When Jesus heard about John, He left there privately in a boat and went to a secluded place. But when the crowds heard of this, they followed Him on foot from the cities. When He went ashore, He saw a large crowd, and felt (profound) compassion for them and healed their sick.
Matthew 14:13-14 AMP
Jesus got some tough news. Not only was it John's death, but He knew how His mission on earth was going to end too...& he went to get some space on his own.
We need space too.
To process, to think, to mourn, to pray.
Jesus had to be deliberate to make that space & so do we... turn off the xx, close the door...find some solitude...
But.
People found him.
I'd be annoyed...but Jesus - his compassion for and love for people is bigger than anything!
May our love for others be more like Jesus that despite our circumstances we can love & bless...

Genesis 15.8-18.ESV But he said O Lord God , how am I to know that I shall possess it? ...When the sun had gone down and it was dark, behold, a smoking fire pot and a flaming torch passed between these pieces. On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram... March 15 was the last day we looked at Abram's story...he was questioning God and this is God's response...sacrifices and smoke and fire and a covenant...a promise... Isn't that what we crave for sometimes? God, if only you'd just show me smoke & fire, a burning bush a sign, miracle, healing...then all my questions would disappear...all my doubts would be gone... 2moro we'll see Abram's response but I think God values our faith in spite of our questions and doubts. That we choose Him anyway #faith
