But you, Lord , are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high.
I call out to the Lord, and he answers me from his holy mountain.
Psalm 3:3-4 NIV
With God, even when on our own, our heads would drop, we might give up, give it away...give in...but He can be our shield.
He can lift our head
Restore our heart
David called out.
One version says "with my voice I was crying to the Lord".
Maybe we need to find somewhere we can call out to God out loud.
Maybe that's why God answered from the mountain cos David was out in the mountains on his own...talking to, crying to, crying out to...God.
In one church they had a tradition of everyone praying out loud at once in their own language...
Maybe we need to find a place sometimes where we can talk to God out loud...and listen...'cos He'll tell you that you're dearly loved...

Genesis 15.8-18.ESV But he said O Lord God , how am I to know that I shall possess it? ...When the sun had gone down and it was dark, behold, a smoking fire pot and a flaming torch passed between these pieces. On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram... March 15 was the last day we looked at Abram's story...he was questioning God and this is God's response...sacrifices and smoke and fire and a covenant...a promise... Isn't that what we crave for sometimes? God, if only you'd just show me smoke & fire, a burning bush a sign, miracle, healing...then all my questions would disappear...all my doubts would be gone... 2moro we'll see Abram's response but I think God values our faith in spite of our questions and doubts. That we choose Him anyway #faith
