Romans 8:31-32, 34-35 NLT
[31] What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? 
If God is for us, who can ever be against us? 
[32] Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won't he also give us everything else?
...
[34] Who then will condemn us? 
No one - for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God's right hand, pleading for us. 

Can anything ever separate us from Christ's love? 

Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?

Can anything separate us from Christ's love?
Paul asks questions about condemnation, gives us the assurance that we are not condemned because of Jesus.
Before he moves on can we accept that we are Beloved, that we are Accepted, that we do Belong in His family?

And then Paul's next question - Can anything separate us from Christ's love?
What do you believe?
What's your answer?

Paul keeps it real by recalling some of the traumatic events of his life before he answers, and invites us to consider our reasons why we think we can be separated from the Love of Jesus.
His story mattered, and so does yours.
No matter what, you are Beloved.

Genesis 15.8-18.ESV But he said O Lord God , how am I to know that I shall possess it? ...When the sun had gone down and it was dark, behold, a smoking fire pot and a flaming torch passed between these pieces. On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram... March 15 was the last day we looked at Abram's story...he was questioning God and this is God's response...sacrifices and smoke and fire and a covenant...a promise... Isn't that what we crave for sometimes? God, if only you'd just show me smoke & fire, a burning bush a sign, miracle, healing...then all my questions would disappear...all my doubts would be gone... 2moro we'll see Abram's response but I think God values our faith in spite of our questions and doubts. That we choose Him anyway #faith
