Mark 6:39-40 NLT
[39] Then Jesus told the disciples to have the people sit down in groups on the green grass. [40] So they sat down in groups of fifty or a hundred.

There were a LOT of people.
There was a TINY amount of food.
It seems that Jesus wanted his team to experience the impossibilty.
To sit with the Impossibility.
To face the Impossibility and follow Jesus anyway. 
And Jesus took his time, waited.
Waited for everyone to get into groups and settle.
Wait for the Impossibility to sit with his team.
He knew he was going to miraculously make a way, but his team didn't.
What they did was act in Faith. 
God, the Eternal, Creator of everything, becoming a person, a baby, entering into the story with His creation.
Impossibility.
Fully God. Fully human.
Impossibility.
Love me.
Accept me.
Adopt me.
Know me and do it anyway.
Be enough to cover all I've done.
Have Grace for me.
Forgive me.
Love me.
Impossibility.
Have a Bigger Story that we're part of.
Impossibility.
Have a Life for me after this life.
Impossibility.

The crowd was invited to sit and wait and Jesus worked with the seeds of life, a drop in the bucket, 5 loaves and 2 fish, and made the Impossibility real.

All he asked from his disciples was to look for the seeds, listen to Him, follow Him.
To have Faith (in the Impossibility).

The "mighty things" he wants God to do are all on the outside, all about power, and David's writing sounds like he's a bit lost in his quest to win. And I do the same thing. Praise God and ask him to fix my problems. Fix the classroom/online/workplace bully, fix my finances, fix my relationships, fix my problems. That is what the Scriptures mean when they say,  "No eye has seen,  no ear has heard,  and no mind has imagined  what God  has prepared  for those  who love him." 1 Corinthians 2:9 NLT Paul is explaining why the people who were running the world at the time were OK having Jesus put to death - because they didn't get it that there's more.  God is more. The future is more. More than we can grasp or imagine. Paul talks of the mystery of God, yet somehow we want God to be small enough to understand, to predict, to manage how we want or expect God to be.  But Paul reminds this church, and us, that He is More.  I wonder if Paul would ask us with all our wonderful technology if we're looking to that for answers to questions it cannot answer, that the "more" we need is found in the mystery of God and it's OK to not get it all, it's OK that He is beyond our grasp and understanding.  And.
