I am reminded of your sincere faith...
For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God...
for God gave us a spirit not of fear
but of power
and love
and self-control.
2 Timothy 1:5-7 ESV
What is this spirit that God gives?
Power: "Dynamis" the ability to get things done, might, strength
Love: "Agape"  the love that puts the other person first
Self-control: "sophronismos" self control, self discipline
Imagine a perfect melding together of the power to get things done, the self discipline to get on and do, and the love that directs towards others!
This spirit Paul says to Timothy is found in fanning into flame your gifting...why wouldn't we want that!?!
Maybe because the person who perfectly demonstrated that ended up in pain, humiliation and failure, crucified on a Roman cross.
Out of that power, love and self control came resurrection and hope.
The Living Hope!
As you fan into flame, step into your gifting, may you know a slice of that Living Hope :)

Genesis 15.8-18.ESV But he said O Lord God , how am I to know that I shall possess it? ...When the sun had gone down and it was dark, behold, a smoking fire pot and a flaming torch passed between these pieces. On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram... March 15 was the last day we looked at Abram's story...he was questioning God and this is God's response...sacrifices and smoke and fire and a covenant...a promise... Isn't that what we crave for sometimes? God, if only you'd just show me smoke & fire, a burning bush a sign, miracle, healing...then all my questions would disappear...all my doubts would be gone... 2moro we'll see Abram's response but I think God values our faith in spite of our questions and doubts. That we choose Him anyway #faith
