Friday! Proverbs!
The words of a gossip
are like choice morsels; they go down
to the inmost parts.
Proverbs 18:8 NIV
What's a "choice morsel" for you?
Just a bite of that favourite food...when we eat it, tastes so good.
I admire people who when they're offered a "choice morsel", something they love, just say "no thanks".
They know it's going to taste good, that they'll enjoy it, but they're choosing something else as more important (eg a health goal)
Gossip is like that.
We want to hear it
It's going to taste good.
How do I know?
Because I've heard it before, & it was juicy!
While it tastes good, I know it's not good for me.
So when I'm offered some, I'm going to choose "no thanks".
I don't need to hear it
This won't help me, the speaker, or the person spoken about.
Even if you're the only one in the room saying "no thanks" that's OK

Joseph replied..."Dont you see, you planned evil against me but God used those same plans for my good, as you see all around you right now - life for many people..." Genesis 50:19-20 MSG The view from the drone. The different perspective. "God has been at work in my life despite, in fact within the hatred that you had towards me. Even though I couldn't always see it, I kept trusting Him, even when He was silent, when all hope seemed lost... God was at work... Can you see that now?" #faith #faithinthedark
