Jesus answered,
"If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven.
Then come, follow me."
When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth.
Matthew 19:20-22 NIV
Jesus knew what this young man was treasuring more than anything, what he was placing his trust in, hope in...
The good thing in his life had become the ultimate thing. And he couldn't let it go.
When we make God our ultimate treasure, when we choose to follow Jesus, then the treasure we held so tightly to seems to fade.
The ultimate question here is "who is in control?"
Am I really making Jesus Lord of my life?
He simply says "Come, follow me..."

Joseph replied..."Dont you see, you planned evil against me but God used those same plans for my good, as you see all around you right now - life for many people..." Genesis 50:19-20 MSG The view from the drone. The different perspective. "God has been at work in my life despite, in fact within the hatred that you had towards me. Even though I couldn't always see it, I kept trusting Him, even when He was silent, when all hope seemed lost... God was at work... Can you see that now?" #faith #faithinthedark
